Thank you, Dad, for the happiest years of our lives. Father, Husband, Grandfather, Scientist, Encourager, Confidant and Ultimate Girl Dad. I remember you taking down our braids and washing our hair on Saturday mornings when we were so young, you paid for extra lessons in high school so we could master certain subjects. Once, you told me that I was going to recite my times table when you got back from work, I went to bed early to avoid that task, you woke me up that night and made sure I recited them perfectly. You and Mum raised four daughters, a teacher, doctor, attorney and nurse. You dedicated your entire lives to us. We are so blessed, grateful and proud to have had you as our parents. You never missed graduations, not even for your grandchildren. When your grandson Akindele was cast as Simba the Lion King, you proudly attended the play and all the events surrounding the 8th grade graduation. You taught me our history, about our great statesmen, Obafemi Awolowo of Nigeria, Patrice Lumumba of The Congo, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana and so much more. You made numerous trips across the Atlantic to visit us in college and beyond. Your motto was no knowledge is ever wasted, I will forever cherish those words. You sang the same Nigerian lullabies you sang to my twin sisters when I was six, to your grandson Akindele. So many wonderful memories to recall. So glad you were our Dad. Thank you, Twin Dad, my Dad. Miss you loads. Rest In Perfect Peace. “May His favor be upon you And a thousand generations And Your family and your children And their children, and their children.” Your daughter. Adenola Aboyade Cole
